From the invoices I have it seems the July 2001 4.6 vogue was 38,181 + VAT =44,862.
I am not sure where @Henry_b got his number as to how the diesel is more, But thats the price on the original invoices I have from OF. Maybe they got a discount and passed it on to the buyer as he was dropping another 50k+ on extras.

I wouldn't of bought it new thats for sure even if I had the money..That's about £80.000 in today's money .....What else could give so much fun for the money
I payed £1400 for mine 4yrs ago, I dread to think what the parts spend has been.

I payed £5000 for mine in oct 2007 with 59k on the clock and spent just under £2500 including £600 to have the roll pins and clutch done within the first month as all in all well happy with it

I think I tracked down that Otto would have cost someone around £36,000 in 1996. About the time my mate paid £38,000 for his first house, a 3 bed mid-terrace in a grotty bit of the South.
