The wife bought a Freelander 1, Kalahari, Td4 auto by auction, very cheaply. When I got to have a decent look at it the propshaft and VCU are missing.... Dunno what I thought I'd seen when looking in the auction yard but it wasn't a drive train
Well, it looks like I've managed to source a propshaft and VCU via eBay, I'll be getting the VCU reconditioned when it gets here, my concern is that the IRD might be banjaxed as well, is there anyway I can find out without a propshaft and VCU in place?
I don't fancy lifting the thing into place just to take it back off again if I can avoid it.
The car drives OK, no noises from what's left of the drive train, it is happy going forwards and backwards, no issues on full lock in either direction.
So, is there a 'lazy way' to check the IRD please?
