As the title states, how do I check that my 4 wd system is working correctly ? the reason I ask is when I pull out out of junctions with some haste, I can get a little front wheels spin !
The car is a 2013 SD4 HSE Auto that's only done 60,000 miles, I bought this 8 months ago and during this time its had a major service with all oils changed.
The Haldex had the oil and filter changed along with the pump removed to clean the filter screen, it has also had 4 new Pirelli Scorpion tyres fitted.
I have no warning lights and I have scanned the car with an iCarsoft V2 LR and this shows no issues with the Haldex or drive train.
With it being 190 BHP it accelerates well from standing, but I would have though the Haldex system would kick in quickly to stop wheel spin.

Am I simply being heavy footed ? or is there another way to check the 4 wd system is functioning correctly

Many thanks for any advice. Ian

Simple answer is find a muddy track. Freelander relies on front wheel traction. When you spin at the front, Traction Control kicks in saying on loose gravel.
Your dashboard whenever you start normally displaying three lights that automatically go out Hill Decent, Abs (Brakes) Traction control.
The Haldex like the VCU of Freelander 1 only kicks in when front spinning for grip on grassy muddy lanes. The front prop spinning fast causes the Haldex or VCU to tighten up and causes the rear prop to act on the rear wheels. To see if the VCU is working lifting one wheel off the ground and using a hub lever will show the gripping of the VCU.

If you pull away fast and there's no slipping of the front tyres, then the AWD is working. The moment you pull away, the TR module applies rear wheel drive, to make sure there's plenty of traction available. You can test this my pulling the Haldex fuse and trying again, as it will spin the front tyres under hard acceleration without the rear providing additional traction.
