Hi All,

After having issues with low power for quiet some time, this morning I have bitten the bullet and disconnected the MAF.

At first is ran really roughly until i revved it a couple of time. It also seems to be noisier.

On on the road though, wow. It's like going from a double decker to a Ferarri.

I guess that my MAF is screwed then.

Happy Days, now for the £400 replacement

How about one from Rover Ron- a little cheaper I believe

If you get one from RR it will be a pierburgh MAF so you will need the tuning box to go with it, has a MAF compensator built in

I really would like to know the difference between the 2 mafs is it just the diode

Somebody said he was selling direct replacements as well now. Not checked myself.

Yeah considering a Ron box just bothered and the insurance increase. By the time I have coughed the extra, it'll be just as cheap to get the OEM one.

Also worried about the extra strain a ron box would put on a TD4 with 237,000 miles on it. Don't want to kill it altogether

The Synergy 2 and MAF are £250

Have you tried cleaning it.
At that mileage it will probably be coated in gunk.

When I first got mine, it used to have no power below 3000 rpm and then all hell would let loose and it would rev right round to the red line and beyond if I didn`t watch it.

A full filter change and the use of full synthetic oil sorted it over a period of time.

It does hesitate in the hot weather though.

£400 wheres that from.

Famous Four - New Parts for Freelander 1998-2006 Models - Fuel & Air Systems

£129 + VAT for a Genuine Bosch item (I bought one last year) for the TD4 or £59.50 + VAT for the L Series.

I have no idea where you got £400 from.

£400 is what the stealers are quoting!!!!

I'll get one from famous four!!!!
