hi i am having trouble with my hi and low range defender 90 300tdi when selecting low range it is a bit stiff and when i go to take it out of low range i carnt get a gear you have to put it in and out a far few times till i finally get 1st 2nd ect does anbody have any idears

The selector rods can get stuck if not used from time to time

Hopefully just a case of cleaning up and lubricating - have seen some threads on this

Should be able to access by removing the middle seat panel.

are yousaying you have to use gears in gearbox to help select hi again after selecting low as this to some extent is normal as hi low selection is done through dog clutch no synchro .it may beas well as stiff that clutch is not clearing enough
