have a question, can you fit a disco 300tdi r380 gearbox into a 'k' reg 200tdi disco? if so whats involved? any help appreciated. thanx

Yes the boxes in a Discovery are a straight swap. You will need to swap over the speedo housing (R380 has an electronic sender IIRC) and handbrake housing between the two.....the cables and mechanisms are different.

You will find the mounts on the transfer box are also different but easily swappable as all the holes are there for both types.
