Hi all, we are new to this have been looking at the forum's for a long time and always saying we should join but never got around to it.

We need some help with our 1800 petrol freelander 98, I am just replacing the cluch and had a hard time putting the gear box back into the reduction box. So I took the reduction box off its mountain, moved it back and the gear box closed up to the engine. Then I notised a water leak from one of the 2 metal cooling pipes that go to the reduction box, does anyone know can these be by passed or will I have to get the pipes welded, E.G is it esential the reduction box is cooled by the flow of water????

Any help would be great

Thanks Paul

Hi, thanks for the quick responce, just a few more questions if you dont mind!! can the pipes be fixed or replaced or do I have to replace the whole box???

Have a search on the freelander section , im pretty sure there has been a similar problem covered on there.
