Arite guys, one of my customers in work has got a 54 reg TD4 and hes got a little problem.

When you ease off the throttle the gear stick starts to move about like mad and you get a judder through the whole car.

I got under it and the rod that goes from the gear stick to the box has got a lot of play in it (don't know if that's normal?)

I'm thinking it could be some sort of mount that's causing a bit of vibration and causing the gear stick to shake about?

Has anybody else experienced something like this before?

Thanks in advance :D

fecked gearbox? Had something similar in a car when somone changed a clutch on a car and knocked the driveshaft in. The balls on the end of the shaft disintergrated and went in gearbox. Very weird to drive. Not doing what you think it would!

Check engine mounts, take prop off and see if it still does it. Kinda hard to know when your the other side of the screen

If the gearbox would be shagged would there be any other symptoms as it drives good and has no trouble at all slipping in and out of gear..... Just when you ease off the throttle. It's a confusing 1 lol

My old freelander never had anything like this. Had just about everything else but not this lol

Thanks for the help guys.

hopefully it will just be a mount or a drive shaft and not a gearbox...

ill let you know how we get on

Cheers
