hi all.... (disco 200tdi ) my rev counter keeps falling and the battery light comes on.... garage and every one else says alternator needs replaced... so did that and replaced a large fuse but the problem still exists.... any ideas folks ?

dodgy connection on the small wire at the alternator?

Run a new wire from the terminal to a temp lampholder earthed to the vehicle,see what happens then.
