Anyone local to Three cross area of Dorset who can fix my 90? Its stuck in 5th gear after the wife used it today. Suspect it'll need a new box - 200tdi 1990 G reg

Is the gear lever stuck or will it move around while the box remains in 5th?

Yeah clutch is ok - managed to limp it home in low range. Stuck solid in 5th- new box time i guess

If it's home I'd take the bulkhead out and take the top off the gear change and have a looksee .. It may be that the torsion spring has broke and jammed in there, or the ball broken off the bottom of the lower section of the gear lever, or maybe just some other foreign object has got in .. My Disco got a pen lodged into the bias plate!!

Heh, by bulkhead, I meant tunnel between seat and bulkhead ...

Be more fun leaving the tunnel in situ and removing the bulkhead.
