are you reffering to both battery leads or alarm unit?

The Battery leads. Disconnect them both from the battery and hold them together for 10 secs and then leave em off the battery for 10 mins.

Loose solder joint on circuit board of remote - got a little bit on to touch up and... BANG! LIFT OFF!
