Hi,

While trying to work out what's wrong with my FBH I had the passenger rear liner off I found a little stray earth wire, the tab it attached to had pretty much rusted off (it came adrift in my hands).

It attaches to a tab next to a silver cylinder, I'm assuming it's the fuel pump.

Not sure it's been properly attached for a while so assuming it's not that important, so I just poked it back down next to the fuel pump.

Any idea what it might be, I its important I'll revisit it and do a proper repair.

It's the black wire in a loop bottom middle of this photo.

Thanks.

It's the earth terminal wire for the fuel pump.

It's just for safety in case of a spark I think - not so important on a diesel, but I'd fix it.

Very common problem.

Thanks Sing, good to know its not going to stop me getting to work - will solder it on properly at some point.
