Hi everyone, No not stuck in a ditch somewhere or blew a gasket but my 110 is just not starting. I bought an ex MOD 1986 110 soft top that came with a 2.5 NA. I drove it for a while and then decided-bravely- to upgrade to a 200tdi that I bought from a supplier in the UK. I followed conversion advice from glencoyne and others and did all the necessary refitting upgrades. It is presently in the truck but when I tried starting, it would struggle to turn. I would get at most 2 very very slow turns at most. I thought it might be a battery problem so I bought a new battery with 950 CCA but the same thing happened. I thought it might be a starter problem and had that changed but the same thing happened. I spoke to my supplier that told me something to the effect of removing a glow plug and try starting well I removed all four plugs and yes it did turn freely but after replacing the plugs the same sloooooow turn again.

Any help will be appreciated. Sorry if this is the wrong forum

Moved for you.

Check connections and especially earths from battery to chassis and engine to chassis.

You can isolate all wiring by putting a jump lead from the main +ve on the solenoid to a known good battery earthed to the starter (or close) and then a length of wire from the small spade connector on the engine side of the solenoid (exciter from ignition) and touching it to +ve
