Sorry to have to ask this guys, but I'm getting a lil confused and being new, I'm learning so don't shout at me, Please?!

I'm looking through the various Steering guards for my Disco 1 and fiding some are listed as fitting not just Disco 1 and RRC, but also defender! Is this possible?

There are some much better designed ones for the Fender than the Disco, but if they don't fit, there's no point looking...

...but what's the difference in the Disco1 / RRC ones and the Fender ones? Can Fender ones be modded to go onto a Disco 1? If so, what's required?

disco and defender steering guards use different mounting points

If your handy with a welder you could probably make your own mounts, Personally I only have the steering guard on for looks, if I had too I'd make the steering guard mounts easy to access and small, the mounts on mine are a pain to take off

Disco and rrc have the same mounting points defenders are difarent, so no it won't fit all three. I have one on my disco, but also somo bars. There are pros and cons to them. Such as you won't **** up your steering bars. The con is they can act as a plow when going backwards or ride up obstacles so you lose streering.

So can you get sumo bars for the Disco as only ever seen them advertised for the Fender?

I have a Disco guard sorted now, but still considering the sumo bar option to reduce lift on the front end whilst eventing.

Ian at Rockslider makes heavy duty steering bars for discos they are bloody strong.
In fact Ian will make most things if asked and he does good work.

Well i said i had them so Yes I got my sumo bars from challenger 4x4.

I wasn't sure if you'd modified them from a Fender...that's why I asked...but am just about to check out Challenge 4x4 as not come across them before...
