Hi all, just signed up to the forum to get some help from fellow Land Rover owners.
I am trying to fit my cb into my Discovery (1999/T TD5) but the problem is that all I get is interference. I know it's not the power feed and have traced it to be from the antenna. The cb works fine until I start the engine and then all I get is interference. Has anyone else had this problem and whats the secret to fixing it other than a very big hammer. Can anyone help!

Sort out your earth. earth earth earth. first, unscrew the antenna and see if you still get the problem. if not, it is interference through your antenna, and you must make sure that your antenna mount is earthed properly. If you unscrew the antenna and you still get it, make sure that your power supply is earthed properly. also if you get a whine with the engine, or when your indicators/wipers go, it's your battery earth.

depends how your mounting it i suppose, but as VE says, its the earth thats usually the prob, either that or theres a break in the cable
