guys. im away from home for a while and i've lost my drain plug out of the Autobox. I called LR, and ordered a replacment, but its probably 2mm too big. its wont even fit in the hole, letalone start on the thread. I called them up and they said its definatly the right bit. I called around a few other landrover places and they all quote the same part number.

Could some body please have a look on rave. Its the drain plug on the autobox, in the sump under the filter. Range Rover p38, 1998, 4.6

The part they gave me is RTC 4647, A0581454, R9AJC, DE70
Seems to be a 1/2" with super course thread.

Thanks.

PS, this is what i've been given RTC4647 DRAIN PLUG & MAGNET ASSY | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series

The drain plug is very small on the ZF4HP22 fitted to the P38 with no magnet and an allen key head, the thread is quite fine and maybe less than 10mm diameter. I don't have a part number, sorry.

Yours is a ZF4HP24 as you say it is a 4.6. I think the drain plug is the same as the
ZF4HP22 looking at the drawings.

data,i think the p38 doozil g/box is the same as the 4.6 g/box.check that out to see if it is.;)

No, only the 4.6 had the ZF4HP24 and then only for a short while then LR reverted to the ZF4HP22 for the 4.6 despite the extra power. At least that's what it says in RAVE:D
