Hi folks, new here and wish i'd found it 2 days ago before i took the steering box off my disco 1 cause it wasn't easy. It had a bad leak from the adjuster nut in the center of the top plate i tightend it up a bit and it stopped from there but started leaking from top plate to the main box, should there be a gaskit? cause theres none there and can you recomend a product?. ive removed the four bolts on top but it only moves about 10 mm due to still been conected to drop arm. also the hex key thing in the adjuster is wound right in is that normal cause ive never seen them like that before, any advice appreciated

it needs winding off with allen screw 6mm it has sealing ring in groove ,these can be replaced or seal surface with silicone sealant on outer edge where bolts gonot on seal as you dont want silicone inside box screw it back down with adjuster fit 4 x bolts center steering box equal turns to either lock from center,its important as sector shaft and worm are closest in center ,then rocking input shaft by hand adjust screw till freeplay removed then hold screw while lock nut tightened
