Started with Land Rovers in 1950 when my father bought a 1949 Series 1 80" with a Tickford body (NMW 514) - I was a babe in arms being 1 yr
First L/R of my own was a 6 pot petrol LWB Safari 1968 - drove it miles towing a caravan at 9.8 mpg! F reg - can't remember the rest!
Then I had a 2.5 litre 1980 LWB Safari which I had a turbo fitted to as previously it wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. EET165V - it's still on the road according to my iphone car check app
Then I had a Disco 1 which I drove as a work car for years before changing to the 2001 M.Y. Disco 2 that I now have. Mean time I had a Defender LWB 300TDi for use round the farm - but I sold that a couple of years ago
Arrived here as I'm looking to change the Disco 2 for a Defender 90, and am hunting the elusive perfect vehicle with everything galvanised and no gimicky festoons of lights and chequer plate !
