So Iv'e just bought my 88 VM classic and very pleased with it though only driven for a sunday run of an hour so far.
Anyway my question is that the air con compressor (the bit that is driven by a separate belt if thats the right name) is currently beltless as it needs a re-gas and the belt had been taken off. Not a problem in this weather. However the heater fan only seems to work with the source? selector in the air-con position, is it a case of a relay or something being duff? Will I cause any damage by running the heater fan in this configuration? Would it be best for me to put a belt on before having the system re-gassed? Would there be any issues with having the belt on without re-gassing the system in the short term?
Quite a few questions really but I know 3/4s of 5/8s of fork all about air con.

No I think (history is difficult at times over here) its been in the very south of france, quite a dry climate mostly and little or no road salt.
The doris dosn't like the colour though (condition was more important to me) so might end up as tuscan blue. Nice happy colour I think, in the sun anyway.
