Hey guys my heated seats don't work and its getting to the time of year when there is nothing better then a bit of warm cow hide on ya ass. Where do I start

common fault is the wire between the back rest and seat base. its a strip down job to get at it. you can repair it with fine wire and solder, or you could try and find a new heating unit. best trying the joint between the 2 parts first. if thats ok, you will need to get everything off to find the break in the heating element.

Over time the fine wires of the heating elements in mine had broken under the folds in the squab.
Seats out, on a bench, hog rings off (the wire loops at the back) leather peeled back. Little brown marks in the thin foam covering the element showed where the breaks were. Solder/heatshrink wire into each break, make the wire a bit long to stop it happening again. Check for continuity. I replaced the thermal switches with some hotter ones off fleabay.
Pull leather back over, replace hog rings with cable ties (a lot easier and they won't be seen).
Grab the chance to clean under your seats and check all the electronic plugs etc. Three hours, two seats done.

:D
