the td is going gonna put a proper engine in the 110 now as iv just got a low mileage v8 disco to rape for its major organs

any one done this conversion who can give any pointers? gonna have to use the disco gearbox a, coz i got it and b, coz its sweet as a nut. will the gearbox fit on existing mounts? and will i need to chop the footwell etc to fit seeing as using disco box? as bell housing longer than defender one.

any help much apprieciated cheers.

p.s anyone want a low mileage turner td

well as you intimated, it's not a proper engine

cheers for the link fella some usefull bits there.

where you based sean? engine is currently still in the 110 as aint started stripping the disco yet! but will be pullin her out at weekend maybe friday.

done a load of measurements on both motors today so i know its gonna fit, have to cut engine mounts off both chassis and swap v8 mounts to 110. every thing else seems not to much of a problem ~(sure il regret that!) mainly just fiddly stuff. biggest pain in the arse is going to be the gear lever location, but i accept thats gonna involve havin it in the seat box. just looks ****.

any one got any sort of wiring diagram for this????? as thats the major problem area for me as im **** at electrics.

shame iv got 3/4 tank of diesel in her realy!

Drive 20 miles with the TD - that'll soon finish that off

yeah thats about right! main reason for swapping to v8, may as well get the performance and noise of the eight for similar mpg out the td!
