Hi, I am having problems with the head lights on my Disco 2, when I turn the lights on I only get the side lights, if I turn them off then back on they come on after a delay with a click from the fuse box, I cant see a relay or anything has anyone got any ideas?
Andy.

IMO the stalk is at fault... that click might be the DRL relay but the head lamps are getting feed directly through the stalk's contact and there are separate contacts for head lamps and side lights

IMO you'll just complicate something simple and the stalk wouldn't last more cos it fails due to physical wear not due to the light's load and as you must feed the relays through the stalk's contacts i dont see the sense of it

I was thinking that the heavy current through the switch contacts would have been arcing and burning them. I've never seen inside a failed one so don't know if that's true.

i've opened a few... the electric contacts within the stalk are strong enough(IMO even stronger that a relay's) the problem is that they are mechanically activated by plastic bits and it comes a time when the contacts dont close well due to the mechanism's wear... in which case an additional relay won't get feed on the coil so same sh*T;)
