Hi all I need a new head gasket for my 300 tdi but I've been told there are 2 or 3 different types ie thickness how do I tell which one I need?? Also the the bolts stretch bolts? Any help appreciated thanks

you either measure hieght of piston above block face ,fit as was in holes in gasket are on drivers side rear of head around no 3 injector can be seen with head on,or 3 hole if not sure err5263

re bolts : unless you know for certain how many times the bolts have been used before (the book says 5 max for genuine LR) then its best to use new.Prices vary A LOT ,ebay ones are expensive on the postage ,island 4x4 are cheap and they will supply a nice Elring gasket if you ask !

Buy everything you need at the same time and get free postage.....most places you need to spend 50 or more quid for the free ride.So get some filters and other consumables while you are there.
