Hello all, after finally returning back to the uk after a few years in Germany I thought I'd treat myself to a disco. Got what I thought was a bargain knowing it needed a new boot floor and some welding to the battery tray took it to my local garage who pointed out some areas I had missed and then promptly told me his welding rates are £52 an hour! Nearly had a heart attack! Anyways my question to you fellow disco owners is does anyone know of a welder in Hampshire (Bordon to be precise) that can weld for a much better rate than £52 an hour? If you do could you let me know as I am itching to get out greenlaning and offroading again.

£52 an hour - thats cheap for these parts.

I do know someone that is very good tho.

Vehicle is out of tax and MOT so not legally drive able. But mechanically can drive. The work required is : patch boot floor, patch battery tray, inner arch, both rear body mounts ( I believe the body mounts can be repaired).

I have a mate with a car transporter that could take it back to his workshop and do the welding - depends when you want it done and how soon you need it done - you can see his work on mine if you wish, let me know and i'll ask him for a rough price to collect, weld and drop off. He's also an MOT tester if that helps?

Disco, if you could ask that would be great. I could do with it being done within the next month or so as I just found out it'll take 4-6 weeks for v5 anyway.

better off buying new ones than paying someone to fiddle patching the old ones look at yrm metal solutions they do all the pre made bits you need .............. not sure about rear mounts though
