Ford has in development a gyroscopic stabilizer for its high profile SUV
models. Expect it to hit the market in '05 or '06. Utilizes a 12 pound
disc which spins at 75,000 rpm. Early tests are promising. Explorer
cannot be flipped on level paved road at any speed or steering input. More

I wonder how much energy that would release if it cut loose. I certainly
wouldn't want to be in the vehicle when it happened.

It also won't go up hill, turn off camber or follow the terrain with
it's suspension, just like the Explorer you know and love today!
