it is a discovery 200 which has been re badged as a honda crossroad for the japenese market it was part of the honda - rover partnership.

A typical rather sad example of 'Badge Engineering' . . . I'd imagine they are actually collectable now, I wonder if there will be an example at gaydon in May ??
 
I was working at Land Rover at this time when Honda had a 20% stake in Rover Group. If my memory serves me correctly, it was the first time that Honda sold a vehivle not made by them selves. Honda had no input to anything that we did at Land Rover unlike the cars division although we used some of their processes in quality..Hin-an-yo, Geba kai etc. It was quite ground breaking at the time.
 
Hin-an-yo = quality problems traking and resolution process
Geba kai = "council of war" - meeting to discuss problems, change drawings make part .........just fix the F*"£~ thing!
