Good evening to you all.

While I don't actually own Landy yet, I am looking to buy a 90 within a week or so. The trouble is, the different adverts I see all say they have the best engine for a diesel, whether its a td5, 200 or 300. So, which is best?

All the best and looking forward to getting to now the forum.

WF.

Can of worms here we go...... Welcome to the forum, personally I would say they are pretty good, all have pro's and cons but how well it has been maintained and the condition of the rest of the vehicle is more important. For the record I have a 300tdi and I recently towed a Discovery with a spare set of wheels from Reading to my house and it sat happily at 55 all the way up the M40 and M42

I used to run a Transit with a TDDi and it ran just fine on cooking oil, which I purchased for 48p per litre. The mechanical fuel pump works better than common rail, pressurised injection systems. Which Landy engine is best for cooking oil?

Well finally got my hands on a 90 300tdi.
I also ride a motorcycle and in many ways this landy is very similar. Its noisy, rattly, bumpy, drafty, you get blown around a lot and then when it rains, you get wet!
Love it.
