as above, are there any tips anyone can offer while doing this apart from the obvious, clothing, mask, goggles ?

going to spray it with compressor attatchment/gun , with shutz cans

Take your time in your preparation of the underneath and get it as clean as possible, oh and plastic sheet's on the floor if you don't want a mess on your drive/garage.

pressure wash off, clean all mud traps out, spray it then take a torch and see what you have missed when dry

I use hamerite scholz with wax oil. the empty cans can be thinned with white spirit(asda smart price) put in paraffin gun to get into box sections etc
