In mornings (always actually) if i do the glow plugs once its a b***h to start but if i do it 3 or 4 times its a little better (not alot) is this because the glow plugs i just put in are cheapies £30 a set

check the wiring harness is reaching all 4 plugs. use a multimeter to test that the full current is going to the end of each plug and see how long it is active for. Its not that cold these days and a diesel engine should start no problem.
I reckon that from a cold start, even in summer, they should stay on longer than that. I haven't timed them, but I reckon mine stay on for at least 10 seconds even when the outside temperature is in the 20's C when the car has been stood overnight.
Cheap glowplugs could also be the problem. Why did you change them in the first place? Same problem??
