In mornings (always actually) if i do the glow plugs once its a b***h to start but if i do it 3 or 4 times its a little better (not alot) is this because the glow plugs i just put in are cheapies £30 a set

could well be,or are not staying on long enough.
 
check the wiring harness is reaching all 4 plugs. use a multimeter to test that the full current is going to the end of each plug and see how long it is active for. Its not that cold these days and a diesel engine should start no problem.

they are on for about 4 or 5 seconds


I reckon that from a cold start, even in summer, they should stay on longer than that. I haven't timed them, but I reckon mine stay on for at least 10 seconds even when the outside temperature is in the 20's C when the car has been stood overnight.
Cheap glowplugs could also be the problem. Why did you change them in the first place? Same problem??
 
yeab but if you read any of my other links it was everything, whats problem if they dont stay on long enough
