Hi I am on the look out for a discovery 3 and have test driven both the manual gearbox and the auto both felt great but can anyone tell me which is the better of the two in terms of reliability and cost should anything go wrong?

Auto gets my vote. Had a manual d3 which was fine but not as good as the auto I've got now. Not sure of problems tho.

Only ever driven auto D3 & D4, not mine but through work. Not liking auto at all, to the extent that I am changing my RRC from auto to manual, I would not buy a manual D3, the autos are great and will hold there money better.
