Im just about to remove the 2.5td from my 90 (everythings loose but still in position) but wondering if its necessary to support the gearbox at all. The existing mounts look strong but not sure if a block of wood between the box and the round chassis brace is needed What ya think?

possably look at supporting the bellhousing, will be doing the same to mine in the next couple of days to stick a 200tdi lump in.

Usually, as long as the weight of the engine isnt held on the box, and the gearbox mounts are in good condition, you won't need to.
