anyone got a auto g/box sump? me mates has a crak in it thats been temp fixed with that metal putty stuff but its developing again

just get it welded, drill a hole at each end of the crack to stop its progress and tig it up! shouldnt cost much to have it welded!

I had a cracked aluminium engine sump on a Carlton I owned. Got a piece of aluminium chequer plate TIG welded on as a patch. Lasted for years, long after I sold the motor

Thats what we'll do, if we could find a new sump it'd save ****ing about getting it welded.
