It's a R380 for 300tdi and it has just given up on me!!
It went with a klonk and then I had all gears again so tried limping it home. Stopped at some lights and lost all gears other than 4th??
Does any know what has broken and is it worth fixing? And rough price

layshaft ,4th gear isnt a gear its just the connection of input shaft to mainshaft ,price depends it could be totalled

If I buy a TD5 R380 and swap the bell housing will it fit?

no ,input shaft is quite a bit longer on a td5
