Driving on a flat road, with foot steady on the accelerator, gearbox happily changes through first second and third, changes to fourth and instantly falls back to third.
Is that just a landy quirk, or does something need adjusting somewhere? Or is something poorly?
I don't get any error codes.
It does something similar in normal mode when moving the great selector from 3 to D
 
In sport it is quite keen to drop a gear. Maybe you weren't fast enough for it to settle into 4th and be happy.
 
Maybe the power output of the current engine is different to that of the old engine? Gets its knickers in a twist?

It was quite consistent over the day.
I see nanocom does a gearbox reset, but i understand you shouldn't do that unless the gearbox has been rebuilt? It would do more harm than good?
 
Are you actually saying you are using “sport” mode?
If so then I would think it’s normal as it will react to driver demand/engine sensors quicker and drop a gear.
Is it holding the revs higher?

It works normally otherwise. S on the dash sport lit up on the selector button.Hold the revs higher, drops gear sooner etc
It's just when you're accelerating steadily, say half throttle, second to third around 3500, get to 3500 again and it changes to 4, then straight back down again to 3, without a change in demand or engine load, going up hill etc

I didn't notice much of a difference in the mpg noted on the dash. Reset the dash at the start of the day, 80 mile round trip and the displayed average was 20.5mpg. mostly 50 limits and a few at 60, loaded up quite heavy on the way back

If you are happy in boy racer mode then so be it. It is not something most ever use.
 
I use it on the winding roads but I don't appreciate the thirst that goes with it.
It's fun every now and again.
I do use the lever to drop to 3rd and use the 3rd torque lock up also. That helps alot on the winding and climbing roads. :cool:
 
It holds gears longer and stops the converter locking to aid in acceleration..

In standard mine needs a hefty prod to get it to kick out of lockout top, however in sport all i have to to is tap the throttle and it kicks down.

Put the hammer down in standard and sport you'll notice a difference in the way the revs climb in relation to vehicle speed.

If you're concerned give her some beans and shift the gears manually, in standard back off the throttle at 40-45 and slip her from 3 into D she should go lock up top almost immediately.
