Hi, has anyone ever changed the fuel rail on a Freelander 2?
I have a leak and am wondering if its an easy job, anything I need to be aware of?
Thanks

What year is your FL2 apparently there was a recall on some of the FL2 ( P033 recall is for MY2012-MY2013.)

It takes me 20 minutes to remove the rail. However unless there's a leak with one of the HP lines, or the seals on the regulator or rail sensor,
It'd be interesting to see where it's leaking from.
I can't realy see how the rail can leak. It's a pretty substantial piece of machined steel, which is designed to take enormous internal pressure.
But no, changing it isn't difficult. Do bear in mind that LR say that all the HP lines also need replacing once disturbed, so that will add to the cost.
What year is the car, and what spec is the engine, is it a TD4 or SD4?Hi,
Thank you,
The leak is where the sensor screws into the fuel rail, you can see it dripping.
I had the sensor changed but it didn't stop it. It wasn't cheap so I'm thinking of buying a used rail with the sensor in place hoping that will cure it until the new year when I can look at a new one.
I'm hoping my partner can do it if it's fairly simple.

Easy to remove and fit two bolts holding down the rail, then the fuel line nuts to undo cheap one below got to be worth a punt.
