Morning, My fuel pump on the black one is not working but the fuel gauge is. Has anyone tried an inline pump to save dropping the tank? As the brake pipes don't run behind the tank on this one an access flap is an option but I cannot find the template for cutting it out. The link you posted Tony just pulled up lots of photo's, searching only confirms the diamentions have been lost in the site "upgrade". Opinions/ help anyone, including sarcasm and p*ss taking.;):D

Just done that on one. If you look at the photos you can work out where it needs cutting. 4" grinder and a fine cutting disc did it in a couple of minutes. Cut along the tops of the convolutions going fore an aft rather than in the valleys or you may catch the vent pipe. Just through is the trick.

Thanks Tony, I'll have a go if the temperature rises. I'll take measurement when I do and post them.

Good man put your woolies on. Measure mid point between seat brackets cut carpet around 6" either side of centre line fore and aft for about 12" then cross ways. Take out insulation lift seat a little and fold carpet forwards under seat out of way. You will then see the convoluted floor. Mid way between seat brackets is a valley with a raised section either side of it. You need to cut fore and aft along the outboard edge of both these raised sections about 9" then crosswise to join the cuts. You may have to cut floor and plastic cover at front so that flap lifts properly. Just barely through is the trick and a tap to break. Good luck..:D;);)

Well, sorry people but I ended up dropping the tank so no measurements. Good job I did as i had 1. a broken wire on the connector, 2. the brake pipes that run behind the tank were rotten (you cannot see them till you drop the tank) and 3.the fuel pipe from the pump to the filter was non existant. The pump was fecked as well.
