where or how does the pickup valve attaches inside the fuel tank, please help, thanks.

No idea for any sport but model, year, fuel type etc may help.

I have 2006 RR sport with the 4.4l engine v8
my fuel tank only has one opening.
attacheched to the fuel pump assembly is a pickup valve, i am kindly asking if anyone knows how or where it attaches in the fuel tank.
