Hi

can anyone help with a problem?
when out shopping on saturday the fuel gauge on my 2001 td5,s
dropped from 1/2 tank to zero and the fuel light came on,the tank is now full to the brim but the gauge still reads zero,my main concern being that the fuel pump will pack up on the way to the airport this week???does anyone no if a faulty fuel sender will eventuly have any effect on the fuel pump??? or am i barking up the wrong tree, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it wouldn't on a TDi, wouldn't have thought it would on a TD5. Surely sender unit and pump are 2 totally seperate things?

On some of the more modern pumps they have the sender unit built into the pump. I'm sorry i can't help as to weather the pump will back up or not. May not be the sender could be the gauge itself
