Hi All.

Need a quick answer if possible. :eek:

I've removed my front prop-shaft to try and identify the cause of a judder/vibration that has just started on my Deepender 300Tdi. Of course...I need to engage diff-lock to drive the truck.

Front 2 wheels are now being pushed, not driven, but will I cause damage anywhere in the drive train by driving on the road whilst I do a test run to see if the problem I'm getting re-occurs?? I'm just a bit anxious as I don't want to cause more damage. I appreciate this is meant to be a "get me home" fix too.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Dunno Daft. I've done a few searches, on LZ and ont' web too. Seems like quite a few people have had similar problems...almost, or exactly, the same symptoms but most sured by changing the UJ's. Mine seem OK but I guess I'll take the prop to my local independent and get their view too.

Also read that panhard rod bushes, clutch retainer plate and a shed-load of other things can cause the same effect. The vibration is so bad over 45MPH now I have to back off. :(

My fault for getting posts mixed up. :eek:
 
I once cured a vibration problem by lining up the u j's with each other when slipping the prop back together.
Someone had taken it off and not put it back straight.
