The radio began hissing and crackling quite a bit, turns out the front speakers are playing up and I need the amps, can anyone point me in best direction to get these or part numbers? Thanks

Yours is a late model isn't it? If so it won't have door amps just the big one behind the sub.

Yes....2000 Vogue, Harman Kardon system.

Sub being where?

I know in boot on left hand side an double speaker unit type box

Mines a late 2000 DHSE, no sub in the rear or amp, just the CD autochanger.

Unlikely that two amps would have developed the same fault at the same time so you've either got a fault between the head unit and the amps or a single rear amp and a problem there.

My 2000 had the single amp. It's hidden right down inside the quarter panel. The new type amps are prone to failing

Yours has the Premium system fitted I think if you've got the HK set-up.

The diagrams and everything you need are all in there.

Whether you got the sub-bass woofer thing was all down to what trim level was requested (and paid for) when the car was ordered. There was Lo/Mid/Hi and Premium. I think the HK system with the DSP amp in the back next to the sub-bass woofer was the Premium option, so well done you, you've got a great stereo!

Yeah good system but amps are poor and fortunes to replace, although someone on ebay is now doing repairs on them I think

I'd be looking for damp connectors, maybe even on the head unit.

I'll do that Datatek, the back speakers are working ok, so will check simpler fixes first, plus still have 2 litres of water in spare wheel well on a weekly basis!
