I have a 2002 TD6 with 53K on the clock. How do i know if my car has had its diff replaced or needs doing. The car has full LR service history up to 48K. Is there anything you can do to stop the problem occurings??

There is now a full recall in progress on all the L322's. There is a totally new prop shaft which allows for movement at both ends! I don't know which genius decided that there didn't need to be a UJ at the diff end given the range of articulation on the suspension but never mind. Make sure you register your name with Land Rover as the owner and keeper and you will be added to the list. Given the mangitude of the 'problem' that they are dealing with each dealer is doing one a day and is booked up for months. Having seen the kit you can actually believe that it will solve the problem as opposed to the previous fixes which 'appeared' to be designed so that Land Rover could say 'we are doing something.'

As the Range Rover has independent suspension, the amount of wheel movement shouldn't effect the diff. Isn't the front diff part off, or bolted to, the sump, so there should be no movement between the transfer box and the diff, so no need for UJs. The theory is fine, even if it didn't work in practice!

Yup, but the 'fix' involves putting a UJ type fitting in!
