I have it (actually it's not only for freelander but for D2 as well so called ''warm climate thermostat).... it opens sooner and keeps the temp lower but if you don't have a webasto(like i do) it will be a pain when it's cold outside.... IMO not a good choice for UK
IMO if somebody has overheating problems with a well working thermostat no matter which type that's caused by other things... i didnt have overheating issues but i'm towing a boat that's why i put that stat in and also we have above 35*C quite often around here... it's running a bit cooler with it i can confirm that, and it's logical to be that wayI had read about people having overheating problems and their engines actually running hotter with that particular thermostat(PEL500110), so I have opted for PEM101020

... you'll not avoid that with a soft spring thermostat, ... 100*C as long as it's only under heavy load it's normal behaviour for a Td5, happens to me too quite often and the engine is still running strong at 290K km.Normal temperature is low 90’s but it can get up to near 100
