how much weight can a freelander spare wheel carrier take?
I'm thinking of removing the spare wheel of the back door and making a bracket for transporting a inflatable dinghy thats to large to fit in the back with the seats up. any ideas?

Assuming you have a towbar you might be better with a tow bar mounted carrier - should carry more weight and be safer ?

if your using it in the sea trailer is better or you will loose your paint

depends on how heavy, naturally, but you can hang a couple of bikes off it on one of those bracket jobbies so an inflatable dinghy should be ok

Will have to wiegh the boat? but is a lot heavier than the wheel, cant use towbar has what to take caravan at same time, to awkward to put in caravan

wouldn't use the wheel option had bike carrier with two racing bikes on not the heaviest of weight ,found door dropped slightly and having to lift door slightly when shutting door.could cause other problems with the glass being forced out of alinement's
