Hi guys, I do love my audio. Purchased an ES TD4 earlier with the CD changed under the seat and tape/radio up in the dash. I haven't got the car yet but on the test drive tried to turn it on. Nothing came on the screen and it beeped at me.

Do these stereos get locked? I'm half tempted to get a pioneer/alpine Head unit and stick and amp and some component speakers in the door but I'm supposed to be saving money, not spending it. Ideally, I'd prefer to keep the OEM look anyway.

it would flash at you to put the code in get it checked out before you buy

If you like your audio you will be disappointed with the standard factory head unit. It's a very low power unit producing a miserable 7 watts rms per channel. If you are wanting a bit more "HiFi" you need to improve things. This is what I did.

Ok buddy, yeah I'm a bit of an audio geek myself. Spent many hours making custom enclosures etc for cars I've had in the past. The current car didnt really need anything as it had a Bose 7 speaker system in. Not bad when its a 2 seater mx5 lol.

If you are used to a Bose system you will want a sub woofer
