Hi all, my Freelander is fitted with 18" wheels and I would like to fit some all terrain tyres, would the BF Goodridge 255 55 18 be too big ?

You're better off with a modern technology tyre, rather than one out of the 70s. Michelin Latitude Cross are good as are Pirelli Scorpion ATR or STR. Both good in all driving conditions and quiet on the road.
BFGs belong in the past, and have no place on a modern vehicle.

I was hoping for some thing more aggressive but not mud tyres

The all terrain tyres I was looking at are the new improved design brought out in 2013, anyway are the 255 55 18 tyres too big for the Freelander 2 ?
