Hi All,

Recentley I noticed that my 3 year old Freelander 2 Manual TD4 GS has started to pop out of 2nd gear and once 4th gear when I goose the clutch on a sharp bend, has anyone else experienced this fault?

During the last service I mentioned it and the main 'stealer' (Stratstone's) said that the cable linkage had become loose and would not adjust therefore I need a new gearbox at £3,500 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WTF?). Whatever happened to the old fashioned notion of repairing things when they go wrong?

Theres your problem, Stratstone...

Where are you located? Maybe someone local to you has used a good Indy dealer before, and can recommend them :)

£3500 for a FL2 manual box. Does that include fitting?

My FL1 v6 auto was £2200 for a recon fitted at a main stealer.

I believe it does include fitting.

I'm in East London so if anyone can recommend an independant I would love to get a second opinion, thanks in advance.
