First of all I am new to Forum conversationso hope this is ok,as i placed this in the wrong section earlier.
Hi my 2007 freelander 2 suddenly developed a very lumpy tick over from @750-1000 rmp have had injector cleaner in , had all 4 injectors out and tested -ok, not sure what best to go for next, dual mass has been sugested but dont want to go down that route if possible due to cost, any idea what the cause could be. FL has done 11000 miles

Have you had it on a diagnostics machine to see if there are any error codes? That would be my first thinking.

if you start up (hot or cold) you get a lumpy tickover @750-800 rpm if you raise the rpm to above 1000 rpm the lumpyness seames to disapear.

They have an antistall system, wonder if it's not working, would have thought diagnostic would pick it up

Need to monitor the readings and not just look for fault codes

I would look at changing the fuel filter as a first course of action unless you know when it was last changed and what quality the part was that was fitted

Will check when the fuel fiter was fitted, not my fl so dont keep track of service and things, how would you "monitor" the readings is that a dealer task ?

Depends on how good the code reader you have is as to if it can show live data Or just pull codes

Being doing a bit of digging around about this lumpy tick over on the FL2 and many things seem to suggest the EGR valve could be the problem, possibly need cleaning ?, do you know if it is easy to remove as it is at the back of the engine and doesnt look accessable.
