Quick Question

I know there are some differences between the earlier TD4 and the later TD4 2.00 Diesel Engines. (The M47) but can any one advise what they are? I am looking at an older Freelander 1, TD4, Pre Face Lift, as a parts doner. Particularly wanting the engine to try a few things (Strip the injectors, rebuild and fit into mine) But want to make sure that the differences are minor and not likely the older engine parts wont fit the current engine I am running.

Thanks in advance

The donner is 2002, mine is 2006 Both TD4 engines. Clearly Mine has an additional MAF Sensor at the front left, that the donner doesn't as example.

The only differences are the additional sensor to measure temperature of the intake after the intercooler, but you simply use your sensor.
Auto and manual engines had different injectors, and autos got EGR coolers too.
Otherwise they're the same.

The injectors will still fit out of a 2002 into a later FL1 2005/6 so will a lot of other parts, ie HPFP, can sensor, crank sensor, crank pulley, all the other pulleys, water pump but i doubt anyone would use an old water pump, manifold is the same, as you say there maybe a difference in some of the loom such as the turbo boost sensor you mentioned above.
