Well the more I drank last night the better my idea seemed so cracked on this morning after a strong coffee or two.... An 8ft tall defender was clearly going to cause issues when I needed to work on the engine so after 3 litres of frosty jack I decided on a flip front... Brackets made n welded to the chassis, bracing bar fitted and solid brass rod running through drilled n pinned each end to act as pivot.... Wings braced and rock solid, inner arches trimmed and jobs a good un.... And I can now sit on the tyre and work on the engine with ease and it's a 30 second job to remove the pins and lift the front end off completely should I ever need to do major engine surgery quite chuffed it was so simple .....
