Do you have immobiliser EKA etc disabled?Hi all, just noticed this morning, that my fob,(not working on central locking ATM) does not flash when I put it in the ignition. Should it?, 1999 2.5 DSE. thanks
Batteries good in the FOB?Hi all, just noticed this morning, that my fob,(not working on central locking ATM) does not flash when I put it in the ignition. Should it?, 1999 2.5 DSE. thanks
Check the connector under the steering column harness, do you get the "Key in Ignition" message, if not check the shutter on the ignition barrel and the associated connector. This is interesting stuff.
I had Passive Immobilisation turned on in the BeCM but never, ever did the coil on the ignition barrel cause any detection of my valid and working fob.
Instead when I inserted the key and tried to turn it I got a binnacle message "Engine Disabled, press remote". Which did indeed remove the immobilisation.
Does anyone have a flow chart of the options/settings and the correct process for those settings?
The only conclusion I can currently draw is that my "coil" that is meant to interact with the fob as the key is placed in the ignition is duff or disabled.
Possibly the FOB has gone out of sync.Batteries are good and it flashes when I press the buttons, but will not lock or unlock the car. it just stopped suddenly
As long as FOB sync is not lost, the FOB will function normally with the coil disabled.Check the connector under the steering column harness, do you get the "Key in Ignition" message, if not check the shutter on the ignition barrel and the associated connector.
Thanks @Datatek , yes the message centre does report that the "key is in the ignition" so if that's triggered off a contact on the shutter on the ignition barrel, that bit must be working at least.Check the connector under the steering column harness, do you get the "Key in Ignition" message, if not check the shutter on the ignition barrel and the associated connector.
